CLEAR LAKE, IOWA – A Clear Lake man was taken to jail on sex abuse charges.
A judge issued an arrest warrant for 57-year-old Amando Martinez Montealvo on February 19, a day after Clear Lake police brought two charges of second degree sexual abuse. There was no detail available on the charges or the circumstances that led to them.
Montealvo remained free until a traffic stop on the afternoon of February 23, when a Cerro Gordo deputy stopped him on Highway 122 between Mason City and Clear Lake. He was arrested and taken to the county jail, where he remains held on $25,000 bond.
Montealvo has been appointed a public defender. He awaits a March 4 hearing in court.
So sad.
