What’s next: The NIACC volleyball team (8-8 overall, 1-2 in the ICCAC) hosts No. 11 Kirkwood (16-6, 3-0) at 7 p.m. Wednesday in an ICCAC match in the NIACC gym.
Last time out: NIACC went 1-1 in home matches last Sunday. The Lady Trojans topped the Gustavus Adolphus Junior Varsity 3-0 and dropped a 3-2 decision to Marshalltown CC.

Lady Trojan season highs: Kills: Whittington 19 vs. Iowa Central (9-16-15); Assists: Hailey Winter 31 vs. Ellsworth (9-2-15); Ace serves: Whittington 7 vs. Riverland (9-11-15); Digs: Liv Block 24 vs. Bismarck State College (9-12-15); Blocks: Zoe Schneider 6 vs. Dakota College-Bottineau (8-21-15).
History lesson: Current NIACC assistant coach Caitlyn Hanig accumulated 461 career kills for the Lady Trojans in the 2013 and 2014 season, which is the most kills since Jayna Blome tallied 560 kills in the 2008-09 seasons.

Soccer
What’s next: The NIACC men’s soccer team (4-4 overall, 1-4 in the ICCAC) hosts Northeast CC at 4 p.m. Wednesday on the NIACC campus.
Last time out: NIACC dropped a 2-1 decision to Indian Hills last Saturday. Freshman Dion Dozzell scored the Trojans’ lone goal.
Leading the way: Dozzell leads the Trojans with six goals. Freshman Jackson Finn has scored three goals and Elliot Chapman has scored two goals. Cesar Herrera leads the Trojans with three assists.
Trojan tidbit: Wednesday’s match is the first-ever meeting between NIACC and Northeast.

Cross country
What’s next: The NIACC men’s and women’s cross country teams return to action Saturday at the University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational on the Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul, Minn.
Both NIACC teams will participate in the NCAA Division II races. The women’s 6-kilometer maroon division II race is set for 9:50 a.m. The men’s 8K maroon division II race starts at 11:30 a.m.
Last time out: The NIACC men won the Buena Vista Invitational last Friday with 32 points. The Lady Trojans won the women’s meet with 31 points.
In the men’s 8-kilometer race, NIACC sophomore Imad Amenzou won in a time of 26:28 and sophomore teammate Jacob Day was second in 27:12.
In the women’s 5K race, NIACC freshman Jessica Blumberg was the individual champion in 20:28 in the 5K race. Freshman teammate Emerson Sears was third in 20:50.
In the rankings: The NIACC women are ranked sixth and the NIACC men are ranked 10th in the first NJCAA poll released last week by the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association.
History lesson: At the 2014 Roy Griak Invitational, NIACC’s Hannah Palmeter placed 14th in the women’s division II race in 22:55, which is the second fastest women’s 6K time in school history.
