NEW YORK – A Labor Day poll focused on the 2016 General Election For President shows that every Democrat trails Donald Trump, though narrowly.

In an election for President of the United States, today, Labor Day, business provocateur Donald Trump narrowly defeats Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Al Gore, in head-to-head matchups, according to nationwide polling conducted by SurveyUSA.

Today it’s:

* Trump 45%, Clinton 40%. (There is a 20-point Gender Gap; Trump leads by 18 points among seniors.)
* Trump 44%, Sanders 40%. (Trump leads by 10 among independents and by 6 among moderates.)
* Trump 44%, Biden 42%. (Trump leads by 10 among the best educated; Biden leads by 17 among the least educated.)
* Trump 44%, Gore 41%. (Trump leads by 12 among men and by 18 among voters age 50+.)

Among a subset of registered voters who tell SurveyUSA that they pay “a lot” of attention to politics, the scale tilts to the right: Today it’s:

* Trump 54%, Clinton 36%.
* Trump 53%, Sanders 39%.
* Trump 53%, Biden 37%.
* Trump 54%, Gore 36%.

Voters were asked whether they support a given Democrat “enthusiastically,” “with reservations,” or, whether they are “holding their nose” voting for a particular candidate.

* 57% of Clinton voters say they are voting enthusiastically.
* 53% of Sanders voters say they are voting enthusiastically.
* 49% of Biden backers say they are voting enthusiastically.
* 45% of Gore voters say they are voting enthusiastically.

By contrast:

* 8% of Clinton supporters say they are holding their nose.
* 8% of Sanders voters say they are holding their nose.
* 9% of Biden voters say they are holding their nose.
* 12% of Gore voters say they are holding their nose.

Voters were asked, regardless of whether they were Democrats or Republicans, and regardless of whom they might vote for in a primary, who they thought would be the major party nominees. Today, Labor Day, voters handicap the primary contests this way:

* 44% say Clinton will be the Democratic Party nominee.
* 22% say Biden will be the nominee.
* 14% say Sanders will be the nominee.
* 3% say Gore.
* 9% say someone else.

* 30% say Trump will be the Republican party nominee.
* 20% say Jeb Bush will the the GOP nominee.
* 14% say Ben Carson will be the GOP nominee.
* 6% say Ted Cruz will be the nominee.
* 4% say Marco Rubio will be the nominee.
* 4% say John Kasich will be the nominee.
* 3% say Carly Fiorina will be the nominee.
* 2% say Scott Walker will be the nominee.

Cell-phone and home-phone respondents are included in this survey. SurveyUSA interviewed 1,000 USA adults 09/02/15 and 09/03/15. Of the adults, 900 were registered to vote.

Trump is a herald to the end of the current GOP establishment.

He makes all the other Republican candidates look like shills and cowards (yes, Hillary as well). His irreverence is seen as strength, and his fight against political correctness resonates well with the older crowd. Republican primaries have recently been a circus, and now they have a ring leader.

Comparing Trump to Hilter is ridiculous, but I’m sure most who are posting this are just trolling.

I hope you are all looking forward to our first female president!

You must be talking about Carly, Clinton will be in jail.

Trump is fun to listen to, but when you really break down what he’s saying…it’s not so fun. I wonder if Hitler appealed to people in Germany in the same or similar way? I agree with lots though of what Trump has to say…but I’m not sure I trust him. He’s had a privileged life, with much money given to him by his father. A person would have to be a real F-up to not be able to perpetuate the wealth. Obama has a much more inspiring and grassroots beginning, and those are the people I trust more.

From what I heard yes trumps father was wealthy but all his money he earned himself but the rest of the stuff you said about hitler you could also say the same about clinton.

You trust Obama more??! I don’t know what to say about that…maybe you should pull your head out of the sand or…

Hitler and obama have at least 1 thing in common, they were very good at giving speeches and saying exactly what people wanted to hear. Of course everything they said was all lies but people believed them.

@Trust-You trust Obama more?? You have got to be kidding. How can you possibly trust someone who has lied to you as much as Obama and Clinton. Only a fool would vote for someone who lies and can’t be trusted. I feel the same was about the establishment, programmed Republicans. That is why I like and trust Trump and Carson. They don’t lie and tell you their opinion.

The reason it is easy to trust trump and carson is because they are NOT politicians but business men..

And all businessmen are honest, forthright and compassionate? Carson is a doctor by the way.

@bodacious-Most doctors are business men too. They almost all have their own businesses but they are medical related. They run a office and make a payroll and do the tax thing.

I never said all businessmen are honest, they just see things differently and I know that carson is a doctor but when you get down to it doctors are businessmen too just in a different way.. They too have to deal with budgets and payrolls and overhead and supplies.

Carson’s position at Johns Hopkins probably involved very little business decisions. He is a smart, talented man. He is just a little too far right for my liking.

@bodacios-You are correct in that Dr. Carson is pretty far to the right. However, I think he is a rarity in politics in that he is honest and scary smart. He can learn anything he needs to overnight. I think his brains and honesty out weigh his religion.

It’s too bad his party won’t allow his brains and honesty to outweigh his religion. He knows stem cell research is important, he’s done it himself. Yet he’s now denouncing it to appeal to the crazy religious right base of his party.

@Anonymous-I heard him talking about it on a talk show and he said he had uses stem cell but that science had now found a way to duplicate it so it was no longer necessary. I don’t read that as supporting the right, but do see it as being honest. I don’t remember the name of the show but it was last week.

That last post was mine. Sorry, I didn’t know I wasn’t signed in

Does everyone realize that Hitler started out in much the same way? People were fed up, and it was a ripe time for someone to swoop in and invoke passion and dissent among the common people. It’s happening right now. Stupid, stupid U.S. citizens. They’re falling for a charlatan who ONLY wants power.

I have not fallen, I took an oath years ago and I will honor that oath till the day I die.

Trump is not the answer.

With that said, both the Republicans and the Democrats have no one to blame but themselves for Trumps’ popularity.
People in this country are really pissed off at both parties for lack of accomplishing pretty much anything other than partisan bickering & posturing.
The people of this country are getting to the point of “enough is enough”.
We are tired of all your bullshit, ya both you Democrats & you Republicans.

I don’t care what he is, I just like what he is saying and because he is not being bought by anyone.

Neither is Bernie. Have you listened to what he’s saying?

Ironic Headline. Trump IS a Democrat.

LOL no
