CLEAR LAKE – The Clear Lake Jaycees will be hosting their 3rd Annual Boat, Bus, Bike Poker Run on Saturday, August 15, 2015.
This action-packed, family-friendly, fun-filled day is a poker run with a twist – do it with whatever transportation you wish. With locations all across town and around the lake, you can easily complete the task by boat, bicycle, motorcycle, car/truck/bus, or even walking.
To complete the run, you must register between 10:30am – 11am at The Landing at South Shore Inn for $20, make it to at least five of the predetermined destinations and return to the Landing by 5pm to be dealt your poker hand. The best 5 card hand wins! Bonus cards will be dealt for making it to all the stops. Also included in the fun, is a scavenger hunt – fun for all ages! Cash prizes to be awarded for the top three poker hands and various prizes associated with the scavenger hunt.
Proceeds from this year’s event will go to benefit two local organizations, Patriot’s for Pets Rescue & Shelter and Lime Creek Nature Center.
The Clear Lake Chapter of the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce has been serving the city of Clear Lake since 2012. The Jaycees are a leadership training and community service organization for persons aged 21-40. Sturgis has its burn-out pits that draw big crowds, so I think it would be great if Clear Lake had a loudest bike contest. If your bike can bust china inside someone’s house or shatter windows, I think a prize should be awarded to those people. It takes time, effort and money to make a bike that kind of loud, so why not reward those for their efforts!
I had a car that would do that, and thats with mufflers. It was a 1972 Dodge Charger with a heavily modified 440 magnum. My dad could feel me coming a block away and hear me even farther.

I said that law enforcement likes to use the Iowa Muffler law not to stop the noise and prevent ruckus to the otherwise quiet neighborhoods throughout Iowa, but to invoke probable cause while they are fishing for other offenses. Man it’s tiring trying to communicate with people such as yourself who drag me down intellectually. This whole NIT experience has been a drag in the mud. I showed up there about a year ago. Had cash in my pocket, accompanied by two young grand kids. We wanted to adopt and make a generous contribution to the organization.
The place looked deserted and the front door was locked. We repeatedly rang the door bell until finally an old looking hag answered to the door. We asked to come in and she said no. She said that they were not open today and invited us to come back another time.
We thanked her and several hours later the grandkids took home a dog from the HSNI

If someone published Peter’s mommies address, all the loud bikers WOULDN’T have to go by her house. Only if they know for certain where the house is, then I’m sure the bikers would enact a “No Rev Zone” out of respect and courtesy to Mr. Mental.

Where I lived in arizona they had the river run which is a bike rally, usually tens of thousands of bikes. The main road was half a mile away but when they drove by the ground vibrated, it was awesome.
