NEW YORK – After revelations in the New York Times that the Chamber of Commerce is helping to keep cigarettes in the hand of people all over the world, a dues-paying pharmacy company has quit the organization.
CVS Pharmacies, which we will soon see in Mason City in our Target store, has reportedly quit the Chamber of Commerce. CVS said it is leaving the Chamber after the New York Times revealed the Chamber is fighting anti-smoking laws all over the world and working for the tobacco industry.
A CVS executive said in a statement that the Chamber’s lobbying efforts on behalf of the tobacco industry is “incompatible” with his company’s health goals.

The Chamber of Commerce is all about supporting big business and to hell with the working public. Liberals don’t work so they don’t count. They must be chamber members.
