Councilman Travis Hickey said Wednesday night that there are “bad people” in “all parts” of Mason City as he discussed “solutions” (the council had none) to revitalizing the North End.
What do you think? Are there “bad people” all over Mason City and if so, just how “bad” are they?

Come on Philos there’s your first answer. You shouldn’t question until you know the facts of Hickey. Second clue is his ignorance displayed in video and the recent video from awhile back going after a fellow councilman. Third because PEOPLE DON’T VOTE!!!!!
I’m sure you have heard the numbers of voting turn outs.
Some people just think they are better then. All the material things in the world cannot change your true character and the lengths people will go to deny the truth.
So my probing question was reported and dèleted. It’s funny so many of you act like you have it all figured out but you keep losing elections and the general voting population obviously doesn’t give a damn for what you say or how you think, yet you’re all better than philly when it comes to politics? No, you’re worse. At least I’m honest about reality and offer proposals and vision. Most of you just act as a negative with no positive.
IMO- Hicky will go down as one of the worst councilmen in the history of MC. He does absolutely nothing for his ward or the city. He is just a yes man to our Mayor.
So why are these people getting elected? If they are as bad as you say they are, what does this say about the general constituency of Mason City? I mean, if you need to go ahead and call everyone in Mason City a dumb shit, just come out and do it. Why beat around the bush? (FYI-I know nothing about Travis Hickey, his governance philosophy, track record, or personal characteristics as a man and citizen.)
The people in MC are too lazy to go out in vote.

I recall this incident. I felt bad for Mr.Ritter(sp)being verbally attacked by Hickey. Was he NEXT? Probably, and that scares me, especially he still being a councilman. Who’s next?
Any fair open minded person would understand what Weaver said. He was right…it was an election yr. Awful things go on. Desperados.

I remember that not long ago the MCPD published a map of the various incidents to which they responded throughout the city. Don’t recall how these were categorized…police, fire or other emergency calls I know there is a map of sex offender residences. Perhaps this information would shed some light on the conversation.
