The name of the deceased individual is not being released at this time as well, pending notification of his family. Both Police Officers have been placed on Administrative Leave as directed by Department policy.

Their are worst than hollow points – hey also fragment into various pieces upon contact -known as killer bullets.

This is another idiotic statement, a killer bullet! The main reason for hollow points are for rapid expansion for decreased overpenetration, in other words so they don’t come out the other side and kill someone else.

@Philosophus Know of what you speak. You expose your ignorance by your presumptuous condemnation of hollow point bullets. A cursory examination of the facts and myths surrounding this load would reveal a more nuanced view. But then again, nuance isn’t really your thing, is it?

You have the podium, elaborate, we’re listening.

Are the police using hollow points? They must be.

what difference does it make what kind of bullets they used? You saying that is just as bad as those saying an AR15 is an assault weapon. All you are looking for is to spread fear. Ignorance is NOT bliss here.

I’m saying an awful lot of people die when police shoot. Obviously yes they are using hollow points for the reasons you mentioned in above comment: rapid expansion to stop bullet from exiting the other side and injuring someone else. But that “rapid expansion” is synonymous with fragmenting of the pieces tearing up more flesh, veins, arteries, etc, making them more deadly than a bullet that exits the other side quickly. So therefore, when the police shoot, you probably won’t survive.

Apparently you have never been shot before. Sure the hollow point expands but once in your body there is not a whole lot of difference between a hollow point and any other bullet, a lot of damage is done. When I was in the military and working for law enforcement the rule was, you never draw your weapon unless you think your life is in immediate danger and you never point it unless you are going to shoot and you never shoot unless you are going to kill. If a cop pulled his weapon.
