Swaledale man pleads guilty to second offense drunk driving

MASON CITY – A local man has pled guilty to second offense drunk driving and is now serving a jail sentence.

According to police, on February 7th, Roger Lee Myhre, age 35 of Swaledale, was traveling southwest of Mason City when his car went in the ditch near Mallard Avenue and 230th Street. A deputy came across the vehicle in the ditch at about 11:42 PM. Myhre was arrested for 2nd offense operating while intoxicated and failure to maintain control.

After initially pleading not guilty, Myhre later accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to 30 days in jail, two years of probation and ordered to pay $2,641.25 in fines and court fees.
