Our beloved Donna Julien, 89, passed away on February 24, 2026 at MercyOne Medical Center in Mason City, IA.
Donna was born on December 31st, 1936 to Fred and Virga (DuVall) Haake. She attended Rockwell schools and was active in choir. Donna had a variety of jobs when she was younger. She worked as a secretary for Mason City Junior College and did bookkeeping for Burchinal Elevator and the Mason City Extension Office before uniting in marriage with Fred Julien in November 1966. She later helped bookkeep for Julien Auto Wrecking in Nora Springs during their marriage.
Donna was a gracious hostess who always had friends at her table. No matter what time of day it was, if you stopped by her house, she was sure to keep your coffee cup full and offer a pleasant conversation. Donna frequently traveled with her husband Fred. They used to take yearly trips to places like Texas and Mexico with close friends, where they made an abundance of memories.
Donna’s living relatives are her daughter Dana (Robert) Paulsen; her grandchildren, Allie (Lane) Bryant, Carly (Ariana) Paulsen and Cory (Michelle) Stockstill.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Fred and Virga, her husband Fred, and her daughter Kelly Stockstill.
There will be a celebration of life held at a later time.
