It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Sandy (Hamm) Calvert.
Sandy was born on August 27, 1951, to Lorris and Marian Hamm. Throughout her life, she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, known for the steady love she gave and the strength she carried.
On July 27, 1973, Sandy married John Calvert, and together they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Their love for family was at the center of everything they did, and nothing brought Sandy more joy than time spent with the people she loved most.
Sandy dedicated 50 years of service to the IOOF Home, where she became known for her kindness, reliability, and deep commitment to caring for others. She never hesitated to lend a hand, offer a thoughtful word, or show up when someone needed her. Her work was more than a job — it was a reflection of who she was.
Outside of work, Sandy found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed sewing, loved hunting for treasures at rummage sales, and was always up for a good night of cards. She cherished time with her friends and family, and those who knew her best will remember her as both feisty and generous — quick with honesty, full of heart, and fiercely loyal to the ones she loved.
Above all, Sandy’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. Spending time with them was her and John’s favorite activity, and she poured her love into every moment they shared.
Sandy is survived by her children, Mindy (Rick) Ford and Misty (Mike) Rottinghaus; her grandchildren, RJ (Anika) Ford, Allie Ford, and Caden Rottinghaus; her siblings, Terry Hamm, Faye (Carl) Perry, Mary Robinette, Randy (Jo) Hamm, and Lorri Hamm; and her sisters-in-law, Sue Hallman and Judy Calvert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorris and Marian Hamm; her husband, John Calvert; her sisters-in-law, Sharon Hamm, Sharon Manning, her brothers-in-law, Rick Calvert, Ron Calvert, Jerry Calvert, Dennis Robinette; her niece, Shelly Robinette; and her nephew, Mike Manning.
Sandy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She brought joy, love, and laughter wherever she went, and her absence will be deeply felt — but her love will remain, carried forward in the lives she touched.
