April 13, 1937 – January 10, 2026

It is with tremendous love and sadness that the family of Michael Dean Rogers, 88, announce his passing on January 10, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 13, 1937, to Hughla Aldredge and Harry Zirkle in Davenport, Iowa. He was raised with loving care by Hughla and Lawrence (Dick) Rogers, with his siblings Patti, Jenny, Tony, and Madeline.

He served 27 months in the Army in the 29th Armored Infantry Battalion of the 3rd Armored Division, starting in 1956.

He then met and married the love of his life, Donna Faye Firof, in Davenport, Iowa, and they raised three beautiful children together. Mike and Donna loved golfing. They enjoyed summers on the water with family at Lake Okoboji, spending many happy hours fishing and boating.

Mike was a corporate representative for B.F. Goodrich, having lived in many parts of Iowa before becoming the founder and owner of Mike’s C&O Tire of Charles City in 1971. The store was expanded into a larger Charles City location in 1986. After semi-retiring in 1992, his son Doug and wife Debbie took over the business, and he fully retired in 1999. Mike and Donna enjoyed many winters in Laughlin, Nevada, boating, fishing, gambling, and playing golf.

He is survived by his sister, Madeline Murray; his three children, Wendy Courtney, Douglas (Debbie) Rogers, and Margo (Jim) Neel; 10 grandchildren, Kristen, Summer, Ashley (Spencer), and Guy Courtney; Katie (Brad) Jensen; Nick Rogers; Adam (Amanda) Horstman; Eric (Emily) Horstman; Cole (Katie Mutchler) Neel; and Carly (Katie Matthew) Neel; and 15 great-grandchildren, Courtney Abernethy; Will Steffens; Blake and Colin Courtney; Brecklyn, Rylie, and Greyson Jensen; Rhyan, Jaxon, Sawyer, and Connor Horstman; Sutton Mossman; Briar Hostman; and Autumn and Cain Neel.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna Faye Rogers; and his siblings, Jenny Pick, Patti Lynch, and Nathony Rogers.

No visitation or funeral services will be held. Family members attended a private celebration of life. He will be forever in our hearts.
