Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Epiphany Parish – Holy Family Catholic Church, 722 N. Adams Ave., Mason City, with Rev. David O’Connor as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Elmwood – St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation with public viewing will be held Monday, January 5, 2026, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Jim was born in Mason City, Iowa, to Jose Ignacio Osegera and Mary Carmen Oseguera. He graduated from Mason City High School with the Class of 1963, where he was a standout wrestler and also participated in track and field. Following graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving stateside from 1964 to 1968, until receiving his honorable discharge.

Jim was united in marriage to Judy Kelly at Holy Family Catholic Church after the two met while roller skating in Mason City. Together, they shared a lifetime of devotion and joy, and were looking ahead to celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary. Their love for staying active never faded and they kept busy through the years playing sports.

Professionally, many in the Mason City area will remember Jim from Touch of Class Car Cleaning Service, which he owned and operated for many years. He also worked as a rural carrier with the United States Postal Service, faithfully serving the community.

Jim and Judy were passionate supporters of the YMCA, serving as strong advocates for its mission and programs. In earlier years, Jim served on the YMCA Board of Directors, and together they remained active at the Y throughout the years.

Jim will be remembered for his kind heart, helpful nature, and deep love for animals. His gentle spirit, loyal friendship, and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impact on those who knew him.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Ignacio Osegera and Mary Carmen Oseguera; his sister, Josephine Rita DeLaFuente; and his brother, Phillip Ray Osegera.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Osegera; brother, Albert James Osegaro; and many nieces and nephews; along with other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
