September 7, 1964 – December 20, 2025

Dawn Irene Francis, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, December 26, 2025 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, IA, with Chris Henley officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, IA.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00am at the chapel.

Dawn was born on September 7, 1964, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Cecil and Joyce (Miller) Francis. She grew up in Mason City and graduated from the local community school.

Throughout her working years, Dawn was employed at Affordables and later at Hy-Vee East. She was known for her reliability, kind spirit, and quiet dedication in everything she did.

In her free time, Dawn enjoyed watching baseball, especially cheering on the Minnesota Twins, following WWE, and spending countless hours watching baking shows. Baking was a true joy for her, and she especially loved making delicious cookies for special family gatherings.

Dawn had a gentle heart, particularly when it came to animals. She cherished the pets she had over the years and showed them the same care and devotion she gave to the people in her life.

Although Dawn faced many challenges throughout her life, she never complained. She carried herself with resilience, and quiet grace.

Dawn will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Mark (Jean) Francis Sr. of Plymouth, IA, David Francis of Sheffield, IA, and Charles “Chip” (Janet) Francis of Oxford, IA; numerous nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Vern Miller, Audrey Johnson, Gary (Jayne) Miller; as well as many other family members and friends.

Dawn is preceded in death by both of her parents, siblings, Steven Lee (Cindy) Francis and Gerald Francis.
