January 2, 1958 – December 12, 2025

Robert “Bob” “Pat” Myers, 67, died Friday, December 12, 2025, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa, after a courageous battle with advanced esophageal cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave. North, Clear Lake, Iowa 50428; with Rev. Luke Evans officiating. Military honors will be conducted by members of the Clear Lake VFW Post 4868. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to a Humane Society of choice in memory of Bob.

Robert Patrick was born January 2, 1958, the son of Robert L. and Darlene “Dawn” (Auringer) Myers. He was a 1976 graduate of Clear Lake High School and continued his education at North Iowa Area Community College.

Bob began a career in law enforcement, serving with both the Clear Lake and Waterloo Police Departments. With a deep love for his country, Bob enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving for six years. During his military service, he was stationed in Japan, where he enjoyed learning karate.

Bob spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver for Norsemen Trucking in Lake Mills, Iowa, as well as for several other companies. While working at Cummins, Bob met Renae Thompson, and the two were united in marriage on May 19, 2008, in Mason City.

Bob was a gun enthusiast and loved motorcycles—especially the freedom of the open road. He treasured memorable rides to Sturgis, adventures in Colorado, and countless lake laps around Clear Lake. He also enjoyed coffee chats at the gun club about world issues and debating politics. Above all, Bob cherished time spent with his family and his beloved cats.

Bob is survived by his wife, Renae Myers; his sons, Eric (Nicole) Shahan and Spencer Shahan; and his grandchildren, Jackson and Olivia Shahan. He is also survived by his sister, Diane (David) Stark; sister-in-law, Monica Myers; his best friends, Craig (Jane) VanHorn and Ed Kracht; along with several nieces, nephews, and dear cousins.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob” and Darlene “Dawn” Myers; his brother, John Myers; and his mother- and father-in-law, Hillard and Ruth Thompson.
