Mary Jo Davison,88, of Garner, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, December 14th at Cataldo Funeral Chapel.

Mary Jo Davison,88, of Garner, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, December 14th at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., Garner. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 6 p.m. with Pastor Brad Sheldon officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 15th at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Memorials may be directed to Clear Lake Church of Christ.

Mary Jo Davison, the daughter of Harold and Bernice (Cunningham) Gard, was born on November 3, 1937, in Ventura. She grew up in Ventura and graduated from Ventura High School in 1956. After high school, she attended Minnesota Bible College for a year. Mary Jo worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Garner as a telephone operator. On July 17, 1964, she was married to Victor Davison at the Fertile Church of Christ. They lived in many towns across Iowa while Victor worked on various construction projects, including Interstate 35. In 1970, they settled on a farm north of Garner where they raised their four children. Mary Jo worked at EF Johnson Company and later North Iowa Electronics north of Garner until her retirement. Family was very important to Mary Jo, and she loved to attend her children’s and grandchildren’s school and athletic events.

She was a member of Clear Lake Church of Christ.

Mary Jo is survived by her four children, Robert (Jamie) Davison of Forest City, Vicki Davison of Mason City, Tim (Amy) Davison of Mason City and Jill Davison of Rochester, MN; five grandchildren, Ashlee Davison, Christina Davison, Jenna (Matt) Royals, Emma Davison and August Davison; four great grandchildren, Kameron Cook, Leah Farland and Connor and Mason Royals; her sister, Susan Devore of Rockford, IL; two sisters-in-laws, Margaret Smith of Albert Lea, MN and Pam Gard of Cedar Falls; a brother-in-law, Willis (Jane) Davison of Garner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor, January 26, 1982; her parents; and four siblings, Charlie Gard, Pat Ford, Jimmy Gard, and Mike Gard.
