WINTHROP, IOWA – Law enforcement descended upon this remote Northern Iowa homestead on a search warrant and inside, cops found illegal drugs and an absconded sex offender who had violated a young girl.

On October 20, 2025, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office assisted in a Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office Search Warrant of a rural residence near Winthrop. During the search, illegal substances were seized.

As a result of the house raid, 44-year-old Trenton Dean Boleyn (pictured at top) of Oelwein, Iowa, was located and arrested on three valid Fayette County Warrants. Boleyn’s warrants were for:

  • Failure to Appear – Serious Misdemeanor ($2000 cash only bond)

  • Failure to Appear – Serious Misdemeanor ($2000 cash only bond)

  • Sex Offender Registration Violation – Aggravated Misdemeanor ($2500 bond, can post 10%)

Records show Boleyn victimized a female child 13 years of age or younger (709.12 Indecent contact with a child) back in 2011 and is supposed to be at an Oelwein residence.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office transported Boleyn to the Fayette County Jail. He was booked in at 11:29 AM Monday, and remains in the jail pending court appearances.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office where more charges are pending for Boleyn.
