Osage motorcyclist killed in Bremer county

BREMER COUNTY - An Osage man out riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle was killed Tuesday afternoon after he lost control of the bike.

BREMER COUNTY – An Osage man out riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle was killed Tuesday afternoon after he lost control of the bike.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place at 4:46 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. At mile marker 195 on Highwat 2018 in Bremer county, in the southbound lane, 44-year-old Robert E. Detmering III of Osage, Iowa was traveling on his 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he lost control of the bike and entered the median, where it came to rest.

As a result of the accident, Detmering was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to an obituary for Robert E. Detmering III, his first years the family moved around eventually settling in Osage, Iowa, where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Osage High School in 1999.
