
QUAD CITIES – An Iowa woman suffered an alleged brutal domestic abuse incident at the hands of this suspect, and then he took her life, police say, leading to authorities tracking him down.
On Saturday, April 5, 2025 at approximately 11:11 A.M. officers were dispatched to the American Motor Inn, 4300 11th Street, for a check welfare. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased female, identified as 19-year old Alexis Roelandt, inside a motel room.
Rock Island detectives, working with the Davenport Police Department, located and took 28-year old Butch E. Roberson into custody for an outstanding warrant on Monday, April 7, 2025 while in Davenport, Iowa.
An autopsy was later completed for Alexis Roelandt, with her death ruled as a homicide.
Roberson was extradited from Iowa to the Rock Island County Jail for his outstanding arrest warrant. Roberson was soon charged first-degree murder and aggravated domestic battery. He remains in the custody of the Rock Island County Jail, awaiting court appearances.
This incident remains under investigation by the Rock Island Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
According to an obituary, “Alexis enjoyed shopping, listening to music and being around her family. She graduated from West High School in 2024. She was very social and would engage in a conversation with any and everyone. She was known for getting into grown folks business. She was small but mighty. She will be dearly missed.”
