Mike Kammrad, 70, of Sheffield, passed peacefully on December 7, 2024, surrounded by the love of his three girls – Cheri, Mindy and Jennifer – at the North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Michael Gordon Kammrad was born in Hampton to Gordon and Arlene (Merfeld) Kammrad. He grew up in Sheffied and graduated from Sheffield-Chapin High School. Mike met the love of his life, Cheri Kammrad, and together with the girls lived an adventurous life together. He loved visiting new places and returning to favorites. Mike and Cheri loved to travel to Mexico in the winter and Dalton, MN, in the fall and enjoyed many other places over the years.
Mike worked at the Sheffield Brick & Tile, the Sheffield Co-op, Waterloo Service and then Western Co-op.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife – Cheri; Children – Mindy (Dereck) Klaassen, Jennifer (Joe) Cox; Papa to 6 grandchildren – Ryan and Alex Kuennen, Morgan Klaassen, Matthew, Megan and Sam Cox; father – Gordon Kammrad; and sister Sue (Tom) Barnes.
He was preceeded in death by his mother, Arlene Kammrad.
