Brian James Saltou, age 63, of Riceville, Iowa, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, with his wife and loved ones by his side at Riceville Family Care and Therapy Center.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the 10th Hole in Riceville, Iowa.

Brian was born on January 29, 1961, son of Ray and Patricia (Rice) Saltou Jr. in Riceville, Iowa. He attended Riceville High School and graduated with the class of 1979. After graduation, Brian enlisted with the United States Navy, and was later honorably discharged. In 1995 Brian was set up to go on a blind date with Joan “Jo” Adams by mutual friends. In 1998 Brian married the love of his life, Jo, they spent 29 wonderful years together. In January of 2018, Brian became a resident at Riceville Family Care and Therapy Center.

Brian is survived by his , beloved wife Jo Saltou of Riceville, IA; his parents Ray Jr. and Pat Saltou; brothers John Saltou, Curt (Bobbi) Saltou, Richard Saltou, Patrick (Kelly) Saltou; sister Becky (Bob) Grass; sisters-in-law Julie (Al) Brumm, Jan (Gerry) Probst, Julene (Jim) Blake; Jude (Ken) Adams and brother in law Jay (Mary) Adams; nieces and nephews Lucas Grass, Collin Grass, Derek Saltou, Taia Saltou, Josh Saltou, Brianna Turpin, Logan Saltou, Corissa Schwartz, Carie Fischer, Allison Hemann, Candi Pavlik, Scott Brumm, Cathy Lind, Michelle Gosen, Kyle Adams, Kory Adams, Kelly Adams, Ray Mueller, Sarah Meyer, and Paula Beyer; 33 great nieces and nephews with one on the way; 1 great great niece with one on the way; aunts; uncles; several cousins; and many friends; and 3 very special friends Alley Johnson, John Benttine, and Curt Benttine.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law Walter and Joan E. Adams and Saltou and Rice family members.
