Mountain lion may be roaming in Forest City

This is not the first time that citizens have been warned of a possibly predatory puma pouncing the pavement.

FOREST CITY – Authorities are advising caution in Forest City as mountain lion sightings are becoming more common.

Today, Forest City police warned that “there has been another sighting of the mountain lion, near the water treatment plant by N 8th Street and Halverson Street. Please be cautious and call the Police Department at 641-585-2113 if you see it.”

This is not the first time that citizens have been warned of a possibly predatory puma pouncing the pavement.

On July 31, 2024, city hall in Forest City advised citizens to “please use caution when on the Hynes Spur Trail. There has a been a possible Mountain Lion sighting around 1:30 PM today. If you see anything please contact the Forest City Iowa Police Department.”
