RURAL DICKINSON COUNTY – A Northern Iowa woman lost her life in a weekend auto crash.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on Saturday, July 6, 2024. At about 10:12 PM that night, a 2019 Kia Stinger driven by 18-year-old Teagan Vos of Sheldon, Iowa, was traveling nortbound on 130th Avenue near 131st Avenue, south of Silver Lake, when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The vehicle crossed the center and went into a ditch, overturned, then crossed the 131st Avenue and came to rest in another ditch.
As a result of the accident, a passenger in the car, 19-year-old Edith Lupercio-Lopez, was killed. The driver, Vos, was critically injured and taken to a hospital in Spirit Lake via ambulance.
