CLEAR LAKE - Clear Lake police officer Brandon Heinz has been promoted to Captain, the city's Chief of Police said today.

CLEAR LAKE – Clear Lake police officer Brandon Heinz has been promoted to Captain, the city’s Chief of Police said today.

From Mike Colby, Chief of Police in Clear Lake, Iowa:

I am pleased to announce Clear Lake Police Lieutenant Brandon Heinz’s promotion to Police Captain effective Monday February 19, 2024. He will be sworn on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the regularly scheduled Clear Lake City Council Meeting, held at 15 N. 6th Street in Clear Lake.

Brandon has worked for the Clear Lake Police Department since April of 2015. He was promoted to Lieutenant in September of 2020, and assigned to the afternoon shift as the Watch Commander. Prior to working for the Clear Lake Police Department Brandon was a Jailer for the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, holding the rank of Sergeant.

From a pool of 13, three of which were internal candidates, Brandon excelled in the selection process.

Brandon will assume the duties as Division Commander for the Uniform Patrol and Criminal Investigation Divisions.
