Mary Margaret Myklestad, 75, formerly of Mason City, Iowa, passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday July 6, 2024 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE Mason City, Iowa, with Father Neil Manternach officiating. Burial will be held in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.
Family will greet guests from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the service at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel.

Mary was born on January 9, 1949, to Elmer and Helen (Garvey) Fritz. She graduated from Mason City High School in the Class of 1967. On January 24, 1969, amidst a blizzard, Mary married Jim Myklestad at Holy Family Catholic Church. Their loving union was blessed with two daughters.
Over the years, Mary worked in various roles at local dental and medical offices and in the school system, where she found the most joy working with children.
Mary was a vibrant member of her community, actively participating in PEO, book clubs, ladies’ golfing leagues, and showcasing her talents in quilting, baking, and cooking. She and Jim were also part of card clubs, often hosting gatherings and serving a variety of delicious foods. Mary had a unique gift for making others feel like her best friend, and she was known for her magnetic personality.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy. Mary cherished every moment with her family. Those who knew her will fondly remember her distinctive laugh and her feisty yet kind spirit.
Those left to cherish memories of Mary are her husband, Jim Myklestad; daughters, Laurie Ann (Mark) Tezak and Lisa (Erik Healey) Myklestad; grandchildren, Madeline (Bradley) Wood, Meredith Johnson and her fiance James Morrato; great grandson; Miller Wood; siblings, Kathy (Mick) Haes, and John (Jennifer Wilmarth) Fritz; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patti Gribben; brother in-law, Patrick Gribben; parents in-law, Allen and Frances Myklestad.
