Kathleen Cecelia Best, 68, of Mason City, IA, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center-North Iowa.
Kathy was born August 6, 1955 the daughter of William and Charlotte VandeKamp. She was raised in Hollandale, MN. On January 21, 1989, Kathy was united in marriage to Phillip Best.
Kathy’s crafty abilities kept her busy in her spare time. But her ultimate passion was being with her family especially the grandchildren.
Those thankful for having shared in Kathy’s life include her husband, Phillip; children, Laura (Mike) Lukes, Jason (Brittani) Best, Christina (Jeremy) Best; one sister, Polly (Paul) Hillman; three brothers, Marty (Julie) VandeKamp, Tim (Kristie) VandeKamp, Jeff (Virginia) VandeKamp; three grandchildren, Ireland Hootman, Jace Lukes and William Lukes; and many extended family.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kristine Thompson.
