Elola V. Kracht, a feisty 3 lb baby girl, was born on November 8, 1923, in Armstrong, Iowa to Paul and Nora (Hagenson) Wegner. She passed away on June 18, 2023 at Valley View Care Center in Armstrong at the age of 99.

Elola V. Kracht, a feisty 3 lb baby girl, was born on November 8, 1923, in Armstrong, Iowa to Paul and Nora (Hagenson) Wegner. She passed away on June 18, 2023 at Valley View Care Center in Armstrong at the age of 99.

Elola graduated from Armstrong High School. On January 15, 1944 she was united in marriage to Arthur Victor Kracht in Fairmont, Minnesota. The couple farmed in rural Armstrong until retirement. They moved to Ringsted in 1989. Arthur passed away in 1990. Elola continued to live in Ringsted until moving in to Spring Creek Assisted Living in Armstrong, in 2011. She thrived and flourished in her new home, she was loved and cared for very well by the fellow residents and staff.

Elola was a member of United Lutheran Church in Ringsted and the VFW Auxiliary in Armstrong. Elola adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a love for chocolate, any type, shape, or color! Elola was an excellent seamstress, making many clothing items for her family over the years. She enjoyed listening to music, especially country-western, and could always be found on the dance floor. Playing cards in her spare time brought her happiness, especially 500 and solitaire. Grandma K will be fondly remembered for her fried chicken and mac and cheese dishes by her family.

Elola is survived by her daughters Lorraine (Roger) Hopkins of Overland Park, Kansas and Walece “Lece” (Mike) Bonnicksen of Ringsted. She is also survived by her grandsons Tyler (Special Friend Stacia Nelson) Bonnicksen and Colin (Colleen) Bonnicksen, and great-grandchildren Conley, Amelia, Abby, and Jack Arthur Bonnicksen.

Elola is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Paulette Kracht, two sisters Elaine (Spence) Mather and Phyllis (Mike) Grabianowski, and a brother Wallace Wegner.
