REINBECK, IOWA – Ann inmate in an Iowa penitentiary was arrested today for the murder of a Northern Iowa woman.
After a lengthy investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Grundy County Sheriff Office an arrest has been made in the death of Christian Marie Jeys. An obituary says Christian “Chrissy” Marie Jeys, age 41 of Reinbeck, Iowa, died on the afternoon of Thursday, December 23, 2021 at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics with her family by her side.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kevin Lee Halladey at Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison on a warrant for Murder in the 1st degree. Halladey was transported back to Grundy County where he had his initial appearance. Halladey’s bond was sent at one million dollars.
Halladey remains in the Grundy County Jail in lieu of bond.
Reportedly, Jeys died from blunt force trauma after she was found unresponsive in a home in Reinbeck she shared with Halladey.
