RURAL HAMILTON COUNTY – A missing Iowa woman was found deceased this morning in rural Hamilton county, authorities say.

On July 25, 2022 at 6:46 AM, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Communications received a call about a vehicle parked in a field drive in the 2900 mile of 315th Street in rural Hamilton County.

When deputies arrived on scene, the vehicle was unoccupied. The vehicle was registered to Sara Figgins from Polk City. Figgins had been reported as missing to Polk City Police Department late last week.

After a search of the area, law enforcement found a deceased female. The female was identified as Figgins. There is no suspicion of foul play and no threat to the public regarding this incident. The cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.

The Iowa State Patrol including K-9, Polk City Police Department, Hamilton County Emergency Management, Jewell, and Ellsworth Fire Departments assisted the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
