Explosion injures two in Hancock county

HANCOCK COUNTY – An explosion injured two people in Hancock county, authorities say.

On July 31, 2019 at approximately 09:12 AM, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office took a 911 report of an explosion located at 2197 James Avenue located approximately 1 mile south of Britt, Iowa – home of Miller & Sons Golf Cars. The Britt Police Department, Hancock County Sheriffs Office, West Hancock Ambulance Service, and Britt Fire Department responded to the scene.

Two injured people were transported to the Hancock County Health System emergency room. No further details were announced.

The case is under investigation by the Iowa Fire Marshall’s Office and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

  1. people die everyday. boohoo. irs ok to make jokes to lighten the mood. in anycase if it comes out that it was totally avoidable and the cause was moronic negligence are you still gonna be the morality police? get over yourself.

    1. Stop trying to be funny, a man died in this incident and another was injured trying to save him and is still in the hospital.
