Chief Advisor Catherine Huggins returns to Huggins Consulting Group

DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced today that Catherine A. Huggins, her chief advisor, is returning to her previous role as executive vice president at Huggins Consulting Group on Aug. 1, 2019. However, Huggins will remain a close advisor to the Governor and her staff.

“For many years, I’ve valued Catherine’s strategic thinking, expertise, and unique ability to forge diverse relationships. She was my first chief advisor as Lt. Governor and I was proud to appoint her to the role again in 2017,” said Gov. Reynolds. “Catherine has been an outstanding public servant to the people of Iowa and her professionalism is a model for others to follow.”

As chief advisor, Huggins leads the statewide Women in Leadership Initiative, supports entrepreneurs, start-ups and small business owners, and manages special projects such as the U.S. Census 2020 effort.

“Kim Reynolds is an amazing individual and one of the most determined leaders I know,” Huggins stated. “It’s been an honor and incredible experience supporting her vision, especially in the areas of job creation, workforce development, and rural empowerment.”

Huggins is best known for her strong reputation, and vast experience in the public and private sectors. She received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa and Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Drake University. She is married to Jeff Huggins and has resided in Iowa for nearly 30 years.
