DES MOINES – The Iowa Department of Natural Resources recommends that Iowans with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly, and children limit prolonged outdoor exertion on Sunday.
Regional snow melt and sublimation on Sunday are expected to generate fog and strengthen the boundary layer inversion, leading to elevated fine particulate levels.
Iowans can keep track of evolving air quality conditions by checking EPA’s national air quality map at www.airnow.gov.
