Auto versus semi accident reported Sunday on Interstate 35 in Worth county

RURAL WORTH COUNTY – A car and a semi truck collided in Worth county on Sunday afternoon, and a man complained of pain after the accident.

Around 4 PM Sunday afternoon, January 13, an emergency call was made for an accident on Interstate 35 in Worth county. The collision involved a car and semi trailer. On the Interstate, at the 204 mile marker, about a mile north of Highway 9, a car with major front end damage could be seen. The male driver was complaining of chest pains. The driver would be taken to Mercy Medical by ambulance.

No damage to the semi could be seen.

Emergency units from Mason City, Forest City, Hanlontown, Fertile were at the scene along with the Iowa State Troopers.

  1. After so many incidents involving State Troopers in a few states, you would think that Iowa would require it’s Troopers to wear Hi-Viz coats or vests.

    However, wearing Hi-Viz coats are no guarantee of safety, witness the death of an Illinois State Trooper last week while assisting at an accident.
