MASON CITY – An Osage teen was hurt in an auto crash in rural Mason City Saturday.
On July 28, 2018 at approximately 11:18 AM, Cerro Gordo deputies were dispatched to the report of a two vehicle accident with injuries. A 2017 Ford F150 pickup was being driven southbound on Highway 65 by 32-year-old Thomas William Mason of Mason City when a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo driven by 18-year-old Lacey Rae Beyer of Osage was stopped at the stop sign on 300th Street. Beyer then entered the intersection and was struck by the southbound truck. Beyer was transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa by Mason City Fire Medics.
Both drivers were wearing safety belts.
The accident remains under investigation.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Department was assisted by the Mason City Fire Department, Mason City Fire Medics, and Mason City Police Department.
How many accidents has it been now at that intersection in the last year?
Is there any updates on her? As hard as she was hit and none of the airbags deployed, I figured she was in shock, and did not know what happened, but she had to have sustained a serious injury.
