MASON CITY – Someone will have more trouble than usual getting high after they lost their baggie of marijuana along a busy Mason City residential roadway.
Let’s face it, this is Mason City, Iowa, and when a druggie wants to get high, they are going to find a way – either through traditional illegal drugs or, if they are really pining for trip to goofyland, sniffing some glue or aerosol.
However, after a decent-sized baggie of marijuana was lost along a busy residential street in town, someone whose favorite time of day is 4:20 will have one less option. The incident took place Monday morning around 10:45 AM, when a Mason City property owner whose only goal is to somehow try and improve his investment despite an uphill battle was talking with a city building inspector as they walked along a sidewalk near South Adams Avenue and 6th Street SW. The pair looked down at the broken sidewalk below their feet and spotted a zip-lock bag full of a green, leafy substance. A kick of the toe at the baggie revealed probable marijuana.
Mason City police were immediately notified of the situation, so that no children might be exposed to the highly-illegal substance. An officer responded to the scene and retrieved the baggie from the sidewalk after speaking to the reporting party. The officer explained that, “yes, that’s marijuana, not very good stuff though, mostly seeds.” He opened the bag and took a quick whiff of the bulging contents and then left with the contraband to fill out his reports.

What do you know, another joke of a story from NIT
Lol, I love this article. Made me laugh with it’s clever disguise about being a legitimate news story. Very gussied up vocab, enjoyed the opening paragraph, the phrase “someone who’s favorite time of day is 4:20”, the photos of the scene of the crime….glad that it was handled by the proper authorities before one of the drug-addled folks of this fair city happened upon it themselves. Give me a fricking break please. I would stick to reporting ACTUAL news, and maybe do it a little better than this hilarious display of journalism. In my opinion, i dont know what the long-term goal is for this “business” but it will never make it as a big publication writing stories like this one, just saying. It’s basically a joke.
Probably lost by Mike F. or one of his customers.
To the writer of the marijuana story… write a book. You have a great sense of humor and personality.
I agree, this is hilarious! However, sadly, I think it was perhaps a sincere attempt at reporting “breaking, need-to-know” news. If this author’s story was legit and thoughtfully planned out, they need to work on toning down the drama and eye-roll worthy phrases. If it was meant to be humerous, they hit the nail on the head!!
Even the cop knows about the terrible mexican brick weed in mason city.
First marijuana, then “crack” cocaine.
Get it? Busted up sidewalk, crack cocaine!
New utility pole, Recent digging. Could of been lost by the crew who did the work. Are they city workers? We need accountability here. If we got tax payer employed people running around sniffing glue this has got to stop. What the hell is going on here. Who’s ward is this anyways. These city council members need to look into this asap.
How long have you lived in mason city? Then pull your head out of your ass, the city doesn’t install utility poles. Besides, you probably planted it there.
Stop the presses – YES accountability MUST be presented. I think whomever dropped the bag needs to come forward and claim it was theirs. Then we can all rest easy knowing that this “criminal” is identified. ( Eye roll….) Who even said anything about tax-payer employed people sniffing glue (although I’m sure it’s a definite possibility)?!?! LOL, Mason City is full of just funny, funny people.
“when a Mason City property owner whose only goal is to somehow try and improve his investment despite an uphill battle”
Hmmm….wonder who that stalwart Mason City property owner may be?
Any guesses?
Anyone?
Eric Bookmeyer?
He likes to hang out in that area and is seen frequently going into that old former church building close by.
I’m going to venture that is the same guy that mooched $30,000 off of Mason City taxpayers last year.
But it’s legal, and encouraged.
The fact that he criticized numerous others for years for doing that, then turned around and did it himself makes him both a hypocrite & a mooch.
The group of people that approved his loan, could have said no. But it was a win win for both sides. He seems to have had a change of heart. With that being said, your hate and slander are consuming you, give it up.
Wasn’t this guy some kid straight out of high school green behind the ears. What did MC teach him. He still green behind the ears. So, who is giving out loans that are a win win. $30,000 ain’t a lot of money in today’s world. He probably deserved it. Let’s hope it don’t spend it on fireworks. Then he be an outlaw. lol

No hate or slander here, just stating the facts.
He repeatedly defamed & mocked people that obtained the “forgiven loans”.
That is a fact.
And there was no “change of heart” on his part.
He only backpedaled when there was a lot of free money in it for him.
Hypocrisy at its lowest and insincerity at best.
And as to the hate, not from me, but that is what this site thrives on.
It defames people, spews out derogatory innuendo and sometimes outright lies.
Take a look in the mirror “Ishouldknow”, we both know who’s reflection will be there.
And who would that be? Sorry I mistook you for the other anonymous, you sounded just like him. Besides, you all look the same. You should change your moniker, to Mike or something.

“And who would that be?”
Nice try there little buckaroo “Ishouldknow/Anonymous”. You know who you are & I know who you are, face the fact that you’re just not that clever.
The format of this site allowing anyone to post under “Anonymous” is a big part of the problem.
It should be setup like any forum or credible news site where you have to register & can only use one name.
Why is that not done here?
Perhaps the site owner is just not capable or smart enough to do that or he’s too plain lazy.
Either way this site will never be anything more than it is now, which is a 5th rate online rag.
Unless it changes, but I don’t see that happening as the site owner is content to languish in obscurity & mediocrity.
So from now on I shall use my own moniker only.
Will you do the same?
“highly illegal?” Ha ha.
Ya, “highly illegal” as opposed to “lowly illegal?
Who in the heck writes this stuff?
