MASON CITY – The Mason City Police Department investigated an incident that occurred this morning shortly after 2:00 a.m. A man and woman had been at the Yes Way convenience store at 12th and North Carolina when two men got into their car and told them to follow a vehicle driven by a third male suspect.
The victims drove to a parking lot a couple of blocks away and then were told to get out of their car. Once they got out, the suspects took property out of their vehicle and also took the victim’s phones and wallet from them. The suspects then drove away. Neither victim was injured during the incident.
During the investigation a search warrant was served this morning at a residence in the 1400 block of North Hampshire Avenue and a vehicle. Property that had been stolen from the victims was found at the home and in the vehicle.
Harold Victory Stinnett Jr. (28) of Clear Lake was arrested and charged with theft in the 1st degree. The investigation is still on-going and more arrests are expected.
