Mason City man accused of stealing from Fareway

MASON CITY – A Mason City man was brought to jail after he was accused of stealing from the Fareway grocery store.

Mason City police were called to the Fareway grocery, located at 400 North Delaware Avenue, at about 4:44 PM on Friday, January 5 for a reported theft. After an investigation, officers arrested 44-year-old Wayne Harry Simmers, Jr. on a charge of aggravated misdemeanor third-degree theft.

Simmers was taken to the county jail and soon released, pending a court date.
