MASON CITY – Mason City police have arrested a suspect in yesterday’s stabbing incident.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Braedon Steven Bowers, age 20, of Mason City, for Attempted Murder. Bond on the warrant is $50,000. The victim in this incident remains in critical condition. Bowers and the victim knew each other prior to the incident.

According to Mason City police in a Wednesday update:
On Tuesday, May 30th at 3:34 PM officers and medics were dispatched to the 300 block of West State Street on a report of a stabbing. Wraymond Leon Todd (age 23) of Mason City had been stabbed in the chest with a knife and was seriously injured. Todd was transported by medics to Mercy Hospital and is still hospitalized after emergency surgery was performed.
Another man, Cody Michael Bublitz (age 28) of Mason City was also cut during the assault. He was attended to by medics and declined immediate medical attention.
Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Braedon Steven Bowers (age 20) of Mason City for Attempted Murder yesterday evening and attempted to locate him. Earlier Wednesday afternoon, officers with the Britt Police Department spotted a vehicle that Bowers was believed to be in and stopped the vehicle. Bowers was a passenger in the vehicle and was taken into custody.
Bowers was arrested and is currently in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on the charge of Attempted Murder, a class B Felony. He was booked into the Cerro Gordo county jail at 3:25 PM. The investigation is still ongoing. MCPD was assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Forest City and Britt Police Departments and Mason City Fire Department.
