Well Jesus Christ and God Almighty! And Gee Williker’s and Gol Darn It!

John Skipper is going all out today, he brought his “A” game this morning. The nostalgic reminiscing of Sunny Fresh Farms and the little girl who changed the direction of our city… at least that’s what John would want you to believe.

John even wove the bike rack into this tapestry of deceit. Listen up! Bicycles have nothing to do in choosing a hotel… either of which this community doesn’t really need. A lack of hotel rooms has never been an issue in our village. There could have been a brief spell when the Gray-Stone Hotel shut its doors. Then almost over night the Ariana directly across the street decided to follow suit and went dark as they say.

Three Fingered Nick who was the General Manager of the Ariana just couldn’t compete with the “Free Breakfasts” the Comfort Inn was offering so he to decided to hang it up.

Since the closing if those two landmark institutions many new hotelier’s have entered that “hot hotel” market that both John Skipper and Eric Bookmeyer would like you to believe exists; but it’s Black Magic, Smoke & Mirror’s… the hotel is a con, something used to swindle the State of Iowa out of $10 million that originated on top of “green felt” left there by people with serious addictions… but that’s another story.

Would I lie to You? Of course not! I have already drawn the conclusion that those of you who defeated the phony .67 cent tax levy will once more fortify that fact.

Send a loud message to John & Eric that what you did wasn’t a fluke… so do it again! Only this time do it bigger and better and with such defiance that to John Skipper it would be like running out of ink, and comparably to his favorite small time politician Eric, it would be tantamount to waking up Monday morning and discovering the Budweiser Brewery has suddenly gone dark!

Conclusion; the city wants to get into your pocket, this hotel subterfuge is just the beginning, the real Kool-Aid will be trotted out when they want to drop upwards of $18 million into a building they do not own… and pay millions in rent on top of it all. Vote No!

  1. So….tomorrow the council writes a check for $150K and hands it over. Comparatively to the cost of moving Bookmeyer’s desk to the first floor at a reported cost of $60.000.00…..the real value of hard cash becomes blurred. In November the population votes no….Gateway keeps the cash and we move to the ice in this three card monte game. At some point this becomes tiresome for everyone.

  2. Just curious…. speaking of hotel rooms…….how much do you charge John Skipper to live inside your head day and night. Hope it includes towel service and linen changes. Get a fricken life dude!

  3. A lot of these do gooders are looking more like everyday weasels – correction – they were ALWAYS weasels ! CON ARTISTS -OBAMASS WANNABES!

  4. Peter you have to realize that 50% of the crowd behind this stand to receive a $$$$$$$$$ gift – the other 50% are like the French voters – to stupid to come in out of the rain. Graystone -wow – I remember sitting with my friends behind sam raises have a brew and viewing some of our high society visiting said house of ill repute – It was harmless and a rush. TOO FUNNNY !good old days !

      1. The incendiary comment has been removed. In reply to the troll who attacked Mr. Children:

Over forty years ago Peter Children was falsely arrested for something he never did. He was charged and arrested with indecent exposure inside the store where the two clerks were employed. They had mistakenly identified him as someone who he wasn’t.

After the real culprit was apprehended a trial ensued as a result. The trial was held in Bremer County due to a change of venue. The trial which took 10 days reveled that the police knew in advance they had arrested the wrong person but decided to persecute regardless in hopes of avoiding a lawsuit against the city. At this trail Peter Children was proven innocent and was awarded a jury verdict of $1,250,000.00; which was the largest jury award since the inception of the county itself.

All of this is duly documented; the truth lives at N.IT. We will not harbor hate or the lies that predicate it.

        1. So the underlying fact is that this peter children has an ax to grind with the city government. pitiful and shameful of you , peter children or is it childish? Another loser!!

          1. The REAL LOSER is someone who would make a comment like this. You must be a Establishment PUKE!

  5. Exactly Peter.-Now watch out because they will be coming after you again for daring to have a opinion.
