NIACC was 47-16 in 2016 and qualified for the NJCAA Division II World Series for the third time in four seasons.
Also at the IHSBCA awards banquet Saturday, Mason City High baseball coach Troy Rood and NIACC athletic director Dan Mason received the Bill and Sherry Freese Contributor of the Year award. Mason City and NIACC hosted the IHSBCA all-star series in August of 2016.
