“I’m looking forward to continue working to turn Cerro Gordo county Red and serving Republicans,” Mrs. Hovland stated. “It’s great to get the younger generation involved in local politics. Chadd is a bright young man who will help strengthen the young voter base.”

Central committee meetings for 2017 will be held quarterly at the Cerro Gordo County Courthouse.

Iowa is on its way from being more of a traditional “blue” state to later a “purple state” and finally, may now actually be a “red” state.  Voter registration numbers from this past November election show record high Republican ranks. Democrats had 634,744 register to their side while Republicans had 671,713 (a record high).  Still, “No Party” had 717,794, leaving room for growth.  The choosing “Other” had 11,811 in its ranks, for a total of 2,036,062 registered voters.

          1. No, it’s not. It called totalitarianism and it means we are in big trouble. Not just the liberals, but all of us. And I am sure you will be right up in front of the brown shirts, leading the charge.

          2. Lighten up Bodacious. That isn’t going to happen. You liberals sure are a paranoid bunch. Must be a guilty conscience.

          3. Lighten up? Funny, you seem to be the one with the problem. I think your comments are crass. You seem to think Mr. Trump’s election gives you rights you can’t have in this country. Advocating mass eviction (which easily slips into genocide) as a suitable solution to a nation’s problems seems to me to be very similar to what the leaders of countries you detest do. Maybe you are the real enemy … no, not maybe, but certainly.
