Mason City schools now participating in program to help families cover cost of athletic equipment

mason-city-schools-admin-bldg-spring-2012MASON CITY – The Mason City Community School District is partnering with the Medical Alliance to offer an opportunity to “swap” sporting equipment, athletic apparel or building specific apparel.

This program is a sharing concept that allows families to share in the expenses associated with sports and school participation. The school district says that if you or your child has outgrown or is no longer in need of their athletic gear, Mohawk apparel or building specific apparel, you should consider donating it to The Swap Shop.

The Swap Shop is accepting donations of gently used athletic gear and clean Mohawk and building specific apparel now. Donation boxes are located at each of the Mason City school building offices and at the district Administration Building.

There will be upcoming announcements as to when the Swap Shop will be open for “swapping.”

Anyone with questions regarding the Swap Shop should call the district administration building, office of the superintendent, at 641-421-4401.
