Convicted Mason City thief arrested for stealing

MASON CITY – Police arrested a Mason City man for theft Saturday evening.

A report of a shoplifter was made to police at about 6:10 PM Saturday evening from the Hy-Vee Drug Store, 875 4th Street SW. Upon arrival, officers investigated the situation and arrested 30-year-old Timothy Reid True of Mason City, a convicted felon who pled guilty in 2013 to 2nd degree theft.

True was charged with third degree theft and criminal trespassing because he had previously been banned from the store. He was jailed and later released, pending a court date.

In the felony theft case, True had been given a deferred judgement with probation. Soon thereafter, he violated that probation and was sent to Beje Clark in 2014. He was found guilty again, in April of this year, of violating his probation and sent to jail for 7 days.

They will just slap his hands and let him out again. Probably with a fine that he will never pay.
