CEDAR FALLS – The Northern Iowa men’s basketball team showed it is for real with a convincing win over conference powerhouse Wichita State, 70-54
The 18th-ranked Panthers shocked the 12th-ranked Wichita State Shockers 70-54 in front of a standing room only, raucous crowd. It was the first time two AP-ranked teams played each other in the Missouri Valley Conference since 1982.
Sheffield’s Seth Tuttle scored 29 points in leading the Panthers Panthers (20-2, 9-1 in MVC play) to victory. The Shockers’ 27-game winning streak in conference play ended with the loss.
UNI is in action next on Tuesday, February 3 when they travel to Indiana State.
