CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake woman who was accused of aggravated assault with a weapon has entered a guilty plea to assault causing injury.
Clear Lake police arrested Katy Marieann Mitchell, age 37, on August 26, 2014 after responding to a disturbance. After an investigation, it was determined that Mitchell was the aggressor in an altercation and had allegedly used or displayed a weapon. She was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with use or display of a weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.
On January 26, Mitchell entered a guilty plea to assault causing injury. She was given a one-year jail sentence with all but 14 days suspended. She was also ordered to pay $791.75 in fines and court fees. She was also given two years of probation and a no-contact order between herself and the victim go her crime was imposed.
Mitchell is serving her 14 day jail sentence at this time.
