INDEPENDENCE – An Iowa man was caught and arrested after a struggle and found to be in possession of marijuana, meth, xanax and other illegal drugs.
On Friday, January 30, 2015, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jason Alan Vanlaningham, 39, of Independence. Vanlaningham was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana (aggravated misdemeanor), Possession of Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine (aggravated misdemeanor), Possession of Controlled Substance – Xanax (aggravated misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs (aggravated misdemeanor),Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor), and Interference with Official Acts (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop near 280th Street and Stewart Avenue southeast of Quasqueton.
