CHARLES CITY – A Charles City woman went to the hospital after a three-car accident and says she will fight her traffic ticket.
Charles City police responded to the intersection of Gilbert and South Jackson on the afternoon of January 10 after an auto accident was reported. Police said that 25-year-ld Kendra Mahan of Charles City was traveling north on South Jackson Street when she failed to stop at the stop sign. She slid through the intersection and struck a Freightliner truck traveling west, driven by 45-year-old Dan Yezek of Manly. Mayan’s vehicle then spun around, back into traffic and struck a 2015 Toyota Rav 4 driven by 54-year-old Mark Tepaske of Charles City.
Mahan was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and her vehicle was totaled. Theater two vehicle suffered about $1,500 in damage each.
Jahan later went to a hospital emergency room, she said.
“Was out to (emergency room) and nothing was hurtin at the time now my head hurt have a bruise on my leg an it hurts but other then that I’m just shookin up (sic)”, she said.
She plans to fight the $250 ticket the officer gave her for causing the accident.
“The cop said I can fight it so I’m gonna he said it was icy an slushy started breakin at the top of the hill an still sled (sic)”, she reported.
