Hearing set for woman accused of felony theft

MASON CITY – A woman accused of stealing from a store in Southbridge Mall she worked at has a hearing set and a public defender.

Megan Marie Williamson, age 21, now has a public defender in a felony second degree theft case. She will be in court for a preliminary hearing on December 19.

Williamson was arrested when Mason City police were called to the Vanity store in Southbridge Mall on November 25 to investigate an employee theft. Store management had called police to turn in information reference the activities of Williamson. After an investigation, police charged Williamson with second degree theft, a felony.

Williamson was booked and later released from jail after posting $5,000 surety bond.
