MASON CITY – A woman was injured Wednesday after the car she was riding in struck a pole at the North Iowa Landfill.
On Wednesday, October 15, 19-year-old Dustin Odem of Hampton was driving a 2000 Ponitac minivan at the North Iowa Landfill when he struck a concrete utility pole. A passenger in his vehicle, 2-year-old Emily Kelling of Sheffield, was injured in the accident. She was tranposrted by paramedics to Mercy Hospital in Mason City. The extent of her injuries was not released.
Cerro Gordo county deputies responded to the scene, and the Iowa State Patrol and Clear Lake fire department assisted. The accident remains under investigation.
