DETROIT — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced Tuesday the arrest of a retired police officer on child pornography charges at the port of entry in Port Huron.
Robert Glassmeyer, 61, was arrested Sunday at the Blue Water Bridge after returning from Ontario. During the course of a routine CBP inspection, officers searched a video camera that was in Glassmeyer’s possession. The camera contained several images of child pornography. He was arrested on charges of possession and transportation of child pornography.
Glassmeyer had an initial appearance in federal court in Detroit Monday and was ordered held at the Wayne County Jail. A detention hearing is scheduled for July 2. HSI special agents searched Glassmeyer’s Cincinnati home Tuesday morning. Details of the search are being withheld as the investigation is ongoing.
