CHARLES CITY – Charles City police arrested a man for public intoxication Thursday.

Officers went to the 200 block of 6th Avenue to check on the welfare of a person there. At the scene, 52-year-old Larry Thornton was found to be intoxicated and placed under arrest. He was released Friday on his own recognizance.

Thornton at one time was accused of felony sexual abuse in the third degree. He was instead convicted of indecent contact with a child and two counts of supplying alcohol to a child. He is not, however, a registered sex offender.

  1. “disown recognizance.” Wow, of all the recognizances, disown is the worst one. The poor bastard.

  2. This is actually Geddy Lee from the band Rush. He was supposed to play a small club in Des Moines but never showed. This explains it.
